Retired Snow Skis

A few weeks ago, while traveling out of town, we saw this unusual next to a store we had just visited.  The owner was coming through the gate and, when asked, he said he didn't mind sharing his fence with photographers.  He said that in the fall when the leaves on the trees are turning yellow brides and grooms come to have their pictures taken in front of his fence.  The owner was pretty proud of his fence and I think rightly so.

There is a home in Red Lodge, MT that has a ski fence... this year when I visited over the holidays, I finally took a picture of that fence. Then someone told me the owner also builds other things out of skis and folks who know this make sure he gets any old, discarded skis found on the nearby ski mountain to use in his projects.

Your images are great!

Wow, that is really amazing. Nice job recycling and end up with great art besides. It truly is "the place"

I love this fence... I like the idea of it (to re-purpose the skis) and the colors are bright and eye-catching! Thank you for sharing on 'Weekly Top Shot.' I hope you'll come share again next week...
