Autumn by the River

I like trees because they seem more resigned
to the way they have to live
 than other things do.
~Willa Cather, 1913
Even though it feels more like winter than fall here it was fun to go back through some photos that I took a couple of months ago.  Trees fascinate me as they seem to  have personalities all their own.  This tree appears to be standing watch over the river in an attitude of gratitude for the never ending water supply from which it can drink.

This tree reminds of a bonsai. Nice capture.
