Warmth

We love a cozy fire on any cold evening but it was especially nice on Christmas eve.
We like to have a gingerbread house building event.........
We have many talented family members who love many of the arts..............one granddaughter is perfecting the "hand art" concept.  You can see here the Christmas tree that she painted on her hand, complete with an ample trunk and plenty of colorful decorations on every bough and branch.
I love nativities.  When you love something and people find out about your love you can be blessed to the point that you have to cry uncle.  As much as I love them there is only so much "room in the inn"  so to speak.   Here are a few of the nativities that made it to our Christmas celebration this year.

I didn't plan this........I promise......read the words centered between Joseph and Mary.  Fitting.

I hope you had a blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year is right around the corner for you.

A Drive to Find the Light

There has been an invasion of an inversion.   Today we had, had enough so we thought we could drive to the light.  It has been done here before..............we just head to the top of the mountain and the top of the mountain usually sticks up above the clouds, where we find the light.
So, we drove carefully through the mist.............
..................and began to feel fortunate when we could see a directional sign......................
.............after a few miles we decided that there wasn't going to be the kind of light we were seeking.  We were afraid that we might find a different kind of light.....you know............... the one they tell you to walk toward.................well you get the idea.  We turned around and on our way back to more inversion there was a break in the ground cover.......this merry band of brave souls were out for a walk and they offered to pose, just off of the side of the road.  I had to hurry to get a shot as we slowed momentarily and then sped, safely toward home.

If we hold on.................................I'm sure the light will come.

Following the Bus

I love taking pictures out of the front window of the car..........
I was glad when clouds decided to move off of the road and into the the sky where I think they belong.
I like taking pictures out of the side window but after driving through the above cloud and slush I had to roll down the window and take this one on the fly.  Thank heaven for automatic windows........I never would have made it if rolling the window down by hand was the only option available.
Red barn, blue sky, white snow...............beautiful.

Didn't Make the Cut

I hope your December is full of happiness and love.
(I guess my taste just isn't up to snuff.   This was my favorite card and it didn't make the cut.......if your taste parallels mine....enjoy!)
